How much downtime will I have?
Downtime depends on how aggressive the treatment is. For less aggressive treatments, expect about 5 days for more aggressive treatments downtime can last two weeks.
How long will I be red?
In most patient 80-90% of redness will clear by about two weeks. However in with more aggressive treatment or with some patient the experience prolonged healing, redness can last 2-3 months. I almost all cases redness can be covered with mineral make-up after about 7-10 days.
Does it hurt?
Before the procedure a topical numbing cream is applied and oral medications are given in order to make the patient sleepy during the procedure. After the procedure the skin will feel very hot normally for about 2-4 hours. We supply our patients with cool, reusable gel packs that will relieve any discomfort during this time. Although there may be some swelling over the next few days, very few patients report discomfort.
Which procedure do I need, Active or Deep FX?
For patients who are concerned with pigmentary problems and fine lines Active FX is appropriate. For patients who have deeper lines, acne scars or want to focus on skin tightening, the combination of Active FX with Deep FX is the best treatment.
