Hair Removal Treatment
Our hair removal procedure uses a laser light – an intense, pulsating beam of light – to remove unwanted hair from anywhere on the body. The light works by targeting the dark pigment, called melanin, in the hair. When the light beam hits the hair follicle (where the growth originates), the intense heat will destroy the follicle instantly.
Our ProWave technology is faster, more comfortable and more effective than traditional lasers. Because the ProWave uses a programmable wavelength, we are able to offer customized treatments for every patient. This ensures the safety and effectiveness of each treatment. Also, because the spot size of the ProWave is much larger than other lasers, we are able to treat large areas such as back and legs much faster.
We are able to remove unwanted hair anywhere on the body regardless of skin type. However, hair with little or no pigment (blonde, white or grey) may not be effectively treated as the light cannot be absorbed. Common treatment areas include legs, armpits (axilla), upper lip, chin back and bikini area. Most people achieve a 90% reduction in hair growth in 5-8 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart. More treatments may be necessary depending on hair density.
