Before the procedure a topical numbing cream may be applied for about 30 minutes. Next the skin is cleaned off and appropriate eyewear is put on by the patient and provider. The laser pulses out a short burst of cool air to protect the tissue and then fires a laser pulse. After the treatment a cool gelpack will be applied to the treated area. You may notice some mild redness and swelling which will resolve over the next day or so. Treatments can be repeated every 4-6 weeks.
