Are the treatments painful?
No, this treatment is much more comfortable than any other resurfacing procedure on the market. A topical anesthetic is applied for 30 minutes before procedure. Over 90% of patient rate the discomfort at about 3 out of 10.
How does the Pearl Laser compare to Fraxel
- Fraxel requires 5-6 treatments, Pearl only requires 1-3.
- A deep Fraxel treatment can cause a full week of downtime whereas the Pearl is very consistently 3-4 days of social downtime.
Fraxel treatments tend to be very painful and last over an hour. Pearl treatments are much more comfortable and only take about 20 minutes.
- The total cost of a Fraxel series for the face can easily reach $5000. Pearl cost under $3000 for a series of treatments.
- Fraxel only treats about 15% of skin per pass, Pearl treats the entire surface of the skin in one pass.
How does Pearl Laser compare to CO2?
- CO2 are very painful and requires a patient to be put to sleep with general anesthesia. Pearl only requires topical anesthetic
- Recovery from CO2 is painful and requires about 4 weeks of Vaseline type ointment until healed enough to go out in public.
Recovery for the Pearl is virtually painless and requires only 3-4 days of social down time.
- Redness from CO2 can last several months. Any redness caused by the Pearl resolves within about a week.
- CO2 can cause hypopigmention (lightening of the skin) lasting over a year. No hypopigmentation has been noted with the Pearl.
- CO2 procedures can cost well over $6000. An individual Pearl procedure is $1500.
