Radiesse

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a combination of Calcium Hydroxylapatite microspheres and a gel carrier that is used to add volume to the skin. Radiesse is best at treating static facial wrinkles such as:

  • Lasolabial Folds
  • Hollows Under the Eyes
  • Marionette lines (lines from the corner of the mouth to the chin

Is Radiesse safe?

YES! Radiesse is FDA approved and we have several years of safety data showing an excellent safety record.

How much Radiesse will I need?

This depends on several things:

  • How many areas an individual would like treated
  • Each area usually requires between a half and a full syringe of Radiesse depending on volume loss
  • Amount of desired correction
  • I most patients a single syringe is all it takes to get great results

What should I do before I come in?

Please try to avoid products including Omega Fatty Acids (Fish Oil), Vitamin E, Flax Seed, NSAIDS (Aleve, Motrin, Advil), aspirin and red wine 7-10 days before and after your treatment. These products increase the likelihood and severity of bleeding and bruising.

What will happen during your appointment?

Dr. Verebelyi will discuss your expectations and what areas you are interested in having treated. He will spend as long as needed until you are comfortable before your treatment. Immediately before your procedure the treatment area will be cleaned with alcohol. Dr. Verebelyi is very gentle and almost all patients report minimal discomfort. The total treatment time is only about 30 minutes.

What should I expect after the treatment?

You will likely have a mild amount of redness, swelling and tenderness over the injection sites which may last a few days. In some cases there is also mild bruising which can last 1-2 weeks. Any bruising can be covered with mineral make-up immediately following the procedure.
